I'm trying to get out of this thang we call an artists block. Yes, all you artist cringe at the mere sound of it. I need the help of my fellow artist to combat this evil foe. If any of you have cool drawing ideas, want to do art trades, know of sketch challenges, want commissions or anything else let me know. I could use your expert help. The fate of the art world rests in your capable hands...
If anyone is looking for commissions, I am heading those now. pricing is as follows
all sketches are done on 9x12" bristol board.
single character: Close up: Pencil: $10.00
Inked: $18.00
Full body: Pencil: $15.00
Inked: $25.00
Character
w/background: Pencil: $30.00
Inked: $40.00
*Add gray scale marker: $8.00
Any other requests are negotiable (ie multiple characters etc.)

it's all good!
Thanks for taking a look over my work!
artblock eh? well let me ask..do you have some art friends close by? if so i suggest getting together and making some short stories ( like a short comic preview sorta deal, no more then 10 pages per story )pick a theme/topic and make a list of ideas for your story based on your theme...ask questions.
when the story is more or less done have someone do loose and quick thumbnails and set up what happens with pictures.
this is good for whenever down the road, you never know when you might need a story.
but try cafe sketching? go to the mall and sketch people sitting around...try a new tool..maybe just draw in ink or brush pen.
also go and drop in on a life drawing class if you can, hopefully this stuff kickstarts your mojo!
cheers~

if you can go and see if you can find a book called " Starting point 1979 - 1996 Hayao Miyazaki "
Even if you hate anime i suggest reading it because a lot of the ideals he talks about are really insightful and useful tips for film making and writing.
Sucks about the friends, but you can go by yourself to mall sketch, i often do myself...just sit down and really draw what you SEE instead of just messing about, or at least draw realistic first then you can cartoon it up
It'll warm you up and get you out of the wall your in.
Story stuff i suggest doing with at least one other person in person, on-line is fine as long as it's instant.
the point is to make a story out of barebone stuff and keep it short ( which is harder then a long one )it's one of the things Miyazaki mentions in the book actually..all his films he wrote as a young guy and later made into movies when he could.
